Lark Pien is an American cartoonist and colorist who has created the minicomics since 1997, and worked on the American Born Chinese (graphic novel).

General overview[]

Pien was tasked with being the colorist in the American Born Chinese (graphic novel), which was written by Gene Luen Yang. Pien went onto receive the 2007 Harvey Award for Best Colorist for her work on the book[1]. Aside from that, Pien has worked on minicomics likeStories from the Ward, Mr. Boombha, and Long Tail Kitty, the last of which won her the Friends of Lulu Kimberly Yale Award for Best New Talent in 2004. Subsequently, Pien earned her Bachelor of Architecture in 1995 from California Polytechnic State University. She currently lives in Oakland, California[2].
