Disney+ is a streaming service operated by Walt Disney Direct-to-Consumer & International. It was launched on November 12, 2019.[1]
It started as a domestic service, and then expand internationally after fall 2019. The service streams Disney-owned original content from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, 20th Century Fox (who still has a deal with HBO until 2022), and National Geographic channels. The service operates alongside ESPN+ and Hulu (which Disney owns a 67% majority stake in and take full control of it by Disney) in addition to selling a bundle containing the three-tier package, with Hulu including the service as an add-on.
On October 4, 2021, it was announced that Disney+ had greenlit an adaptation of the Gene Luen Yang graphic novel and ordered it straight to series, with Destin Daniel Cretton directing and Charles Yu and Kelvin Yu writing the series[2].
